CAPS

What Is CAPS? Is It Something You Need?

A CAPS professional “Aging-In-Place Specialist” is trained in:

• The unique needs of the adult population, as well as the accessibility needs for people with a disability - both short and long-term.
• Home modifications
• Common remodeling projects
• Solutions to common barriers

These modifications range from the installation of bath and shower grab bars and adjustment of countertop heights to the creation of multi-functional first-floor master suites and the installation of private elevators. Keep in mind that when you hire an Aging-in-Place Specialist, you are buying a service rather than a product. Our CAPS professionals have years of experience in the construction industry. That's why we can offer additional help in project budgeting as well as assisting in the actual modification or remodeling project. No matter where you start in the process, you will eventually need to hire a professional builder or remodeler to make the modifications to your home.

Projects In Progress

We are continuously working on projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. We install bathrooms with grab bars, shower seats, and handheld shower units.

Finished Projects

Bathrooms are typically the first room to get modified. The changes that are usually done are grab bars around the toilet area and seats in the shower. In some cases, the sink will need to be changed out to allow wheelchair accessibility. Also, the bathtub can be changed over to a shower that is nearly flush with the floor, allowing a wheelchair to get in.
